In order to install nymea on Ubuntu you need to create the /etc/apt/sources.list.d/nymea.list file and add the nymea-repository:

  1. Create the nymea-repository list file:

    Note: please replace <dist> with the codename of your Ubuntu distribution. You can get your system version with lsb_release -a or $ cat /etc/os-release.

    Copy following lines into the file (replace <dist> with your distribution codename) and save it:

    ## nymea repo
    deb <dist> main
    deb-src <dist> main

    Alternative: $ echo -e "\n## nymea repo\ndeb <dist> main\ndeb-src <dist> main" | sudo tee /etc/apt/sources.list.d/nymea.list

    Add the public key of the nymea-repo to your keylist.

    $ sudo apt-key adv --keyserver --recv-key A1A19ED6

    Alternative: wget -qO - | sudo apt-key add -

  2. Update your package lists:

    $ sudo apt-get update

    You can search now for available nymea packages, plugins and tools:

    $ apt-cache search nymea
  3. Install nymea with following command:

    $ sudo apt-get install nymea nymea-plugins

    This will install nymea itself and a set of most commonly used plugins. To see a list of all the plugins available, use

    $ sudo apt-cache search nymea-plugin

    You can install more plugins using the following command, replacing with the actual plugin you want:

    $ sudo apt-get install <plugin-name>

Once, the installation is finished you continue with the Getting-Started instruction.
